| currently listening to : 莫文蔚 - 广岛之恋 sorry for the lack of updates. havent had much to blog about lately (or rather the lack of mood to). AMS is over finally. i am really glad that this 1 year of research has finally come to an end. it wasn't a very pleasant AMS experience for me and i can strongly conclude that i am not a research type of person and i don't see myself being in the research field 10 years from now. hopefully i'll pass and my results for AMS year wouldnt be too dissapointing. i somehow feel i didn't put as much effort into my project as much as i should have anyway, looking forward to my 2 months break before clinicals in austin begins : ) i wanna thank you for making my birthday a wonderful and memorable event. i truly had an enjoyable time. being a year closer to the 'mid 20s' zone is not so fun but i think my family and friends made the journey somewhat less scary. other than the usual birthday dinners, desserts, chats, hugs and laughters..i had something 'extra' this year. the story of my 'extra' begins on 23rd may (where kalip n i had a joint birthday celebration) @ hwarong (a korean bbq restaurant). in my opinion, the food choices were pretty limited and it was all basically meat meat n more meat. anyway, its the company that matters i guess. i had fun. special thanks to boon shih for everything *hugs* oops have to stop digressing from the 'extra'...i came home with a stomach full of korean bbq meat and a slice of double choc cheesecake. slept quite late...and then at about 7am+ i woke up feeling very nauseated and dizzy...i vomited (it has been almost 10 years or so since i last vomited. it is so not a pleasant feeling!). anyway the cycle of sleeping and waking up to vomit repeated about 3-4 times. can die ah!! i slept throughout the whole saturday trying to recover from the whole vomitting incident. i probably ate a piece of 80% cooked meat or something...anyway, as of now, im still in the midst of completely recovering..but im no longer nauseated..so its a good thing i guess. so that's my something 'extra' for this year's bday that will remind me to : stay away from korean bbq meat for at least a few months. the almost birthday twins

thanks so much. i miss you ppl lots! especially those back in msia, spore, scotland and everywhere else | | |
| currently listening to : 靠近- 李圣杰 blogging early in the morning has become a habit. and when i say early, this time its 6.20am. i tried sleeping for the past 3 hours but failed. i was lying still on my bed, eyes shut in a complete silent environment and yet i couldnt sleep. although many pictures of memories did flashed by non stop within the past 3 hours. im very much a retrospective person when i should be more prospective (retrospective and prospective - indicates overload of thesis information). on a complete random note, i cant believe i paid more than aud20 for 4 mussels, 2 tiny pieces of salmon, 2 miserable prawns and 2 sisa cuttlefish (the dish was called seafood casserole). the portion was so unbelievably small! taste wise...one word = salty (and nothing else). i think im really bad with the menu. i tend to pick the worse dishes from the menu oh yah, i have bad hearing too (along with my other disorders due to aging - memory). i say that because the waiter asked if we wanted bread to go along with our casserole. i heard red wine instead of bread. so i said no thanks. he repeated again, suggesting that it would be nice to have it with the gravy. i once again heard of it as red wine (honestly, wth is wrong with my ears). so i said no thank you *smile* the waiter politedly took the menu and went off. pg asked me why dun wan the BREAD. n i replied...WAT BREAD?!? she explained something about bread with gravy...n then i realised. crap it was suppose to be BREAD instead of RED.why it didnt hit me earlier that red wine have nothing associated with gravy leh? hphm. not farnee | | |
| currently listening to : 人质- 杨宗纬 it was raining this morning. so cold. i was really reluctant to head down to city just for the anatomy tute. but since i have been skipping thurs meeting session for the past weeks i thought, oh well, why not drop by once? at least it'll be way more interesting than thurs session where we discuss about nonsense (at times la..sometimes its actually quite helpful). reached on time, just before 2. there was probably only about 6 of us there. i was thinking to myself.."crap. do not tell me he (the surgeon) will ffk us". in fact, i was even joking about it with my friends. to my horror, one of our ams unit member came in and told us "he's caught up in surgery. tute canceled". honestly....WTH. WTH!! i freaking came down all the way from heidelberg and kena ffk mr philip antippa, u owe me aud5.60 for my daily train + tram ticket | | |
| currently listening to : these hard times - matchbox twenty ate lunch at shanghai dumplings today before heading to rmh for a meeting with my supervisor. omg. i am so dissapointed with that place. i remember how i was introduced to that place way back in year 1 - keng seng brought me there for lunch one day and from then, i was addicted to their fat juicy dumplings. the noodles are also very reasonably priced i would say - going at about aud6 for a bowl. i used to drop by that place almost every fortnight to indulge in their big fat dumplings and shanghai fried noodles (which contributed alot to my exponential increase in weight from year 1 till now) which reminded me of the 'black mee' that i really like. it was also a place where i would bring friends to if we ran out of ideas on where to eat. today, was the first time i went back since probably months ago. was so looking forward to try out the noodles with preserved vegetables and pork. we ordered dumplings too. firstly, the place is really quite the dirty. i was actually refraining myself from touching the menu. secondly, the music they play in the restaurant annoys me to the max. i like english songs..i really do. but not when they use very familiar chinese songs and have them sung in english by i-don't-even-know-who thirdly, the dumpling is half of its original size. fourth, i can sum up the taste of my noodles in one word : SALTY. okie so i left feeling really dissapointed. the price is probably still the same as before but the quality..wow..very not the same ah! hphm..maybe i'll give it another try months later and prays really hard that somehow or rather the quality will be better then. i miss the old fat juicy dumplings! went to the nite market @ uni melbourne later in the evening. jam-packed. i was literally shoved, pushed, hair-smack-in-the-face, whacked. just to buy 1 food...we had to queue for 20 mins or so? thankfully, boon shih was working for a stall selling tau foo fah. bought 1 for myself and i think maybe he did put a lil bit extra for me..cos i sure was very full after that : ) ps : nokia 6500 it is! | | |
